Students volunteer for many reasons from wanting to ‘make a difference’ to simply having fun! All gain skills and experience crucial for after graduation. We have many projects for you to choose from, ranging in type of work, beneficiaries and time commitment.
To find out more about signing up for a SVC Project, pop into the SVC Office on the 3rd floor of the SU and we can talk about what you’re interested in and what projects are available to you. We’ll also run through what paperwork you’ll need to complete, as well as which training and introduction sessions you’ll need to attend. Download our application form now so you can fill it out and bring it along with you to the office.
Volunteering requires no experience. You will receive all the training you require before you start and the whole point is you get experience from taking part.
It is however important to consider what time commitment you are able to make. Some projects are completely flexible times, others have fixed sessions. Some are on weekdays, others are on weekends. Some are during the day, others during the evening. Make sure you find a project with a commitment time you know you can keep to!
PLEASE NOTE: SVC Projects are only available to students at Cardiff University. Students of other universities should contact their Student Union or Cardiff Voluntary Community Service.
