***APPLICATIONS CLOSED FOR 2011/2012***
The volunteers on Weekenders organise day trips for Cardiff children who are ‘Young Carers’ or the siblings of children with learning difficulties. The aim of the project is to provide a variety of trips and activities for children who may not otherwise get the opportunity to go to places that may be available to their peers. Trips are run twice a month during term time. Each trip involves 13 children aged 5-16, 8 volunteers, a minibus, a car and an adventure! The adventures include activities such as swimming, ice skating, lazer quest, bowling, trips to Bristol Zoo and more! You need enthusiasm, a caring and responsible attitude towards children and the ability to work as part of a team.
