Thrive

***APPLICATIONS CLOSED FOR 2011/2012***

Thrive is a support group, which was set up by parents, for families of children with a wide variety of special needs. We offer families the chance to meet on a social basis, and to share information with other people who understand the challenges of having a child with special needs. Children of all ages are welcome; brothers and sisters are a very important part of our group and are included in all activities and outings. All facilities are booked solely for our group. We meet every Friday and Saturday and every other Sunday at different venues in Cardiff.
We currently have 60 families on our database and on average anything between 20 and 40 children attend our sessions. The children’s disabilities range from Downs Syndrome, Fragile X, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, learning difficulties, learning disabilities and global delay. Volunteers are needed to help support the children in their play activities at the Saturday sessions.
