SVC’s partnership with Age Concern offers a variety of opportunities for you to volunteer with older people in the community.
By becoming involved in our ‘Good Neighbours’ scheme you will be paired up to visit an older person regularly. The project aims to offer friendship and social contact for an older person who may be isolated from the community. You will provide a listening ear and may become involved in practical tasks such as shopping. This project provides the student volunteer with the chance to interact closely with the local older community in / around the university
Age Concern also offers volunteers the opportunity to visit older people in care homes, offering friendship and a listening ear, as well as helping to run activities for them to enjoy.
When: Days and times are flexible
PLEASE NOTE: SVC Projects are only available to students at Cardiff University. Students of other universities or colleges should contact their Student Union or Cardiff Voluntary Community Service.
