Recruitment and Vacancies

We are seeking our next Board of SVC Charity Trustees, to support the development, growth and planning of SVC's work in 2019/20. These roles will begin with an induction before the Summer break, and then begin in September 2019.

SVC is an independent, student-led Charity, established in 1971 by students from Cardiff University. Our aim is to support the disadvantaged members of South Wales (Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Gwent). The charity remains student-led, with a predominantly student-run Board of Trustees. The SVC Board can be made up of a maximum of 12 members. Trustees are responsible for the strategic management of the charity. They direct the work of SVC, control its funds and approve initiatives. Additionally Trustees attend regular Board meetings and play an active role in SVC.

There are numerous roles available on our Board, which appeal to different personalities and strengths (for a short description on each role please see the attached document - Trustee Role Descriptions).

Our Board meet through term-time on a fortnightly basis (currently for two hours on a Tuesday evening).

These opportunities are a fantastic way to develop leadership skills, and are a perfect addition to CV's for future career development. These roles are also a lot of fun!
