Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work. It aims to improve the quality of volunteering experiences and to encouarage organisations to better recognise the enormous contribution made by volunteers.
And the fantastic news is, well over a year after starting the preparation work for the IiV assessment, SVC has been granted the award!
Even better news is that SVC is the first Higher Education institution in the UK to achieve the standard!
Volunteers past and present know exactly how much SVC invests in their experience and continued development, and this is national recognition of the fact.
A massive thank you must go out to the 40 different people, staff, Exec, co-ordinatord and volunteers who were interviewed during the process. As ever, everyone else should be thanked also, as without all of the volunteers that give their time to this organisation, SVC would not be the major good force in the community that it currently is.
